Nominated Member of Parliament Sabina Chege has condemned Limuru III meetings saying no political value is added to the Mt. Kenya region or to Kenyans in general.

Chege, who was speaking during a show on KTN News, opined that the meetings were out to serve the desires of the conveners.

“I don’t think Limuru III had any value to either the mountain or Kenyans. It is us, Kikuyus exposing ourselves. But if you are meeting for the good of the community, why are they public? Why can’t we meet and discuss our issues in private?” posed Sabina.

Her sentiments come barely a month after the first Limuru III meeting was held in Limuru, with a culmination of the formation of the Haki Coalition.

In the meeting, former President Uhuru Kenyatta was unveiled as the leader of the coalition, which brings 31 political parties together.

According to Limuru III conveners, among them, Narc Kenya’s Martha Karua, the target of the meeting is to come up with a ‘push back strategy’ against the taxes proposed by the Kenya Kwanza administration as well as advocate for the one man one shilling agenda.

However, according to Chege, the meetings have no impact as nothing has changed since the meeting took place.

Currently, organisers of Limuru III led by Jeremiah Kioni are planning to have their second and third meetings in Nyeri and Kisii counties.

The move has received support from ODM leaders among them Raila Odinga.
